§ 4-4. Impoundment.

(a)

The Lake Waccamaw Police Department will be responsible for the seizure and impoundment, where deemed necessary, of any dog or other animal in Lake Waccamaw involved in a violation of this or any other ordinance or state law.

(b)

Any animal, which appears to be lost, stray or unwanted, or not wearing a current valid rabies vaccination tag with owner's information may be seized, impounded, and confined in a humane manner in an animal shelter.

(c)

Impoundment of such an animal shall not relieve the owner or keeper thereof from any penalty, which may be imposed for violation of this chapter.
