§ 36-46. Optional connection; liability for cost.

  • The owners of any property over 200 feet from existing water and sewer lines may choose to connect to the town's water and sewer system and will bear all cost, except in cases where an eight-inch sewer line is required, the town will pay for the difference in the cost of the six- and eight-inch pipe, and the difference in the cost of a two-inch and six-inch water line, when six-inch water lines are required or the property owner may elect to install septic tank and wells. If so chosen, the owner will not be required to connect to the town water and sewer system for a period of five years from date of original installation.
