§ 36-35. Suspension of service.

  • (a)

    Water and sewer service will be cut off after a delinquency of two months with a 48-hour notice to the customer.

    (b)

    When services are discontinued and all bills paid, the deposit will be refunded.

    (c)

    Upon discontinuance of service for nonpayment of bills, the deposit will be applied by the town toward settlement of the account. Any balance will be refunded to the consumer; but if the deposit is not sufficient to cover the bill, the town may proceed to collect the balance in the usual way provided by law for the collection of debts.

    (d)

    Service discontinued for nonpayment of bills will be restored only after bills are paid in full, redeposit made, and a service charge paid for each meter reconnected. The amount of the service charge for a reconnection shall be set from time to time and a schedule of such amount is on file in the town clerk's office.
