§ 6. Assistant town marshal; special police.

That the town commissioners may appoint an assistant to the town marshal, who, in the absence of the town marshal, shall have the powers and discharge all the duties of the town marshal; and the mayor shall have power and authority to appoint any number of special police necessary for preserving peace on any special day or occasion.
